In our morning service, we celebrate the fourth Sunday of Advent, by looking at the stories of Simeon and Anna.  Although the stories occur after Jesus is born, they are often overlooked.  Simeon and Anna were prophets waiting for the redemption of Israel.  They draw us deeper into the mystery that surrounds the coming of Christ.  Simeon utters a strange prophecy, filled with fear and difficulty.  How were these prophets able to discern that the child was to be the salvation of many, and a sign to the Gentiles? (Jan Parke will preach on the same scriptures on December 31.  We hope you enjoy our different perspectives of these revelations.) Our traditional candlelight communion Christmas Eve service will be in the evening at 7:30pm., with prelude music beginning at 7 p.m.
