Weddings tend to be joyous occasions.  They are the beginning of a new life, and we hope the joy will carry through many years.  Sunday’s messages deal with the parable of the wedding banquet.  The dynamics of a wedding in Jesus’ day and age are very different from those of today.  In fact, we find that Jesus hides many lessons in the parable that explore our responses to the invitation, to the king, and to the son.  The parable is a study in spirituality more than it is a study of the manners and customs of weddings.  What is Jesus trying to teach us?
